The NSU Testing Center provides testing and proctoring services to NSU students, students taking classes from other colleges and universities, prospective students, and members of the community.

Need a proctor for a test?

Northern's Testing Center can proctor (supervise) your exam whether you're taking a class from a South Dakota Board of Regents (BOR) school or another institution. Please reserve a proctoring appointment online.


A $20 proctoring fee is required per appointment. (This may be waived if you are affiliated with one of South Dakota’s six public universities.) Only cash and checks can be accepted at the Testing Center.

What to Bring

  • Photo ID
  • Proctoring fee, if applicable
  • Login credentials to the learning management system for your class (D2L, Blackboard, Moodle, etc.), if applicable
  • Any resources allowed by your instructor during the exam


You must leave all personal items - including but not limited to backpacks, purses, mobile phones, laptops and smart watches - with the proctor before you begin your exam.
